Each semester, the Business School of the University of Mannheim welcomes visiting professors from all over the world who teach and conduct research at the chairs of the Business School.

Through the International Visiting Professors program, the Business School is able to offer a larger number of lectures and seminars conducted in English which contributes to the School's internationalization. Therefore, even at their home institution, students are provided with ample opportunity to experience international learning and to acquire intercultural competence, which can normally only be acquired through studying, working or living abroad. Students can improve their language skills and are prepared for studying abroad. They receive a first impression of a foreign education system and, where appropriate, establish first contacts to professors from other countries. In addition, the International Visiting Professors program also provides courses in English for the Business School's numerous exchange students. Last but not least, the International Visiting Professors program enables the Business School to expand its excellent network with renowned researchers and universities worldwide. 

The International Visiting Professors program is well-established and receives positive feedback from both students and staff alike. Furthermore, the visiting professors also benefit from their stays in Germany, e.g., through newly acquired research contacts, joint research projects as well as intercultural experiences.

The Business School of the University of Mannheim particularly supports female visiting professorships and welcomes visits from highly qualified women. This is especially relevant in those fields of Business Administration where the proportion of women is still rather small and where female role models are scarce.

All visiting professors at the Business School are supported by the Welcome Center of the University of Mannheim, which serves as the central advisory and service institution for the guests and also offers temporary accommodation for visiting professors.
