Ausbildung zum Bankkaufmann mit anschließendem Angestellten­verhältnis, Studium der Wirtschafts­pädagogik mit den Schwerpunkten Wirtschafts­informatik und Finanz­wirtschaft, Promotion zum Dr. rer. pol. mit der Dissertations­schrift „Erleben und Lernen am Arbeits­platz in der betrieblichen Ausbildung“ (2011) und Habilitation im Fach­gebiet Wirtschafts­pädagogik mit der kumulativen Habilitations­schrift „Non-cognitive facets of problem solving and problem-solving competence in the field of office work“ (2017) an der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, Ruf an die Universität Mannheim (2016), ab September 2016 Vertretung der Professur für Berufs- und Wirtschafts­pädagogik an der Universität Mannheim und im April 2017 Ernennung zum Professor für Wirtschafts­pädagogik an der Universität Mannheim.
