Abstract: It is becoming increasingly important for companies to reliably evaluate their own success in the areas of environmental, social and governance (ESG) as well. Especially in reporting and taxation: the obligation to be more transparent about the achievement of one's own ESG goals is intended to reduce corporate misconduct, create trust and contribute to long-term business success. At the same time, the transparency demanded is producing ever more extensive reporting requirements and volumes of data. With which data and to what extent ESG targets are achieved is therefore still controversial. Are more ESG metrics really helpful? How is ESG objectively measured in internal systems? How can employees be motivated to integrate ESG best practices into their work? And how do ESG goals and principles influence a company's tax planning and strategy?

We want to discuss these and other important questions around reporting, taxation, controlling and corporate transparency with speakers from practice, regulation and politics in a large roundtable.

Speakers:
Isabelle Adelt (Fuchs Petrolub SE, CFO), René Aldach (Heidelberg Materials, CFO), Nicolette Behncke (PwC, Partner Sustainability Services), Astrid Latzel (BCG, Partner & Managing Director with focus on Private Equity/ESG), Alexander Linn (Deloitte, Partner in Business Tax/International Tax), Michael Popp (Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Head of Corporate Tax Planning and Transfer Pricing), Carsten Sauerland (PHOENIX group, CFO), Alison Schultz (Tax Justice Network, Research Fellow), Stefan Schnell (BASF, SVP Group Reporting & Performance Management), Michael Streibel (ABB, Head of Transfer Pricing).
