Profil

Jan Martin Spreitzenbarth has been an external doctoral student since October 2018, initially in the Data and Web Science Group in the Artificial Intelligence working group of Prof. Dr. Stuckenschmidt and since the beginning of 2022 at the Endowed Chair of Procurement at the faculty for business administration at the University of Mannheim. In Fall 2022, he will be visiting MIT Sloan School of Management.

He completed his bachelor's degree in international management at Simpson College in Iowa, USA and his master's degree in industrial engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a focus on production and operations management. He wrote his master's thesis in cooperation with IBM on target costing for embedded software. After graduating, Jan was a Postgraduate Fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service in the special program Language and Practical Training in China.

In addition to his doctorate, Jan Martin Spreitzenbarth works in the software purchasing department at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, and is currently assigned to build up the procurement organization of CARIAD SE, in which the software competencies of the Volkswagen Group are bundled. His research focus is on the application of methods of artificial intelligence in supply management.
