Maximilian Merath holds a master's degree in Management (M.Sc.) from the University of Mannheim. Prior to that, he graduated from the University of Cologne with a bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Business Administration. In his studies, he focused on operations management, strategy, and finance and spent time at NOVA School of Business and Economics, Lisbon, Portugal to gain international experience.
Internships in the consulting and chemical industry offered him practical experience. During selected projects he dealt with transportation, e-procurement, and supplier management topics. He also worked at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim where he gained scientific experience.
Max's current research interests revolve around supply risk management and issues of sustainability. His joint research with Prof. Bode on reactive risk management was awarded with the Chan Hahn Best Paper Award at the 2017 Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
