Prof. Aprea has assumed the Chair of Economic and Business Education, Design and evaluation of instructional systems. She succeeds Prof. Dr. Hermann G. Ebner, who retired after the spring semester 2017.
Carmela Aprea studied Economic and Business Education, Psychology and Business Administration in Frankfurt. After she graduated as a business teacher, Carmela Aprea moved to the University of Mannheim, where she was awarded a doctorate for a thesis on the planning of business vocational learning environments. Subsequently, she headed the research focus “Current contexts of the vocational training” at the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training in Lugano, where she was also appointed professor.
In addition to the Financial and Economic Literacy Education for the 21st Century and the Vocational Learning and Teaching in the Era of Digital Transformation, Carmela Aprea also addresses the Curriculum and Lesson Development in Business and Economics Education. The resilience in learning and professional contexts is also one of her research focuses.
