Once again, the University of Mannheim, Business School, and the Mannheim Business School are accepting applications for the annual Social Project Contest. Its aim is to sponsor a sustainable or charitable project of students of the University of Mannheim which lacks startup funding. The subsidy is based on the profits from the graduation wine sale at the Bachelor’s graduation ceremony in July: For each bottle of wine sold, one Euro will be donated. The collected amount is then doubled by the Mannheim Business School. Last year’s donation amounted to 1,100 Euro, which benefited the project “Blauherz” (formerly “Clothing the Gap“). The student initiative had developed suitable pants for wheelchair-users.
Application is open until July 15
Students initiatives are now again called to apply with their charitable projects until July 15 (midnight). To compete, initiatives need to hand in a brief, informal proposal (in German or English), including a motivation for and description of the project which requires funding as well as a short presentation of the initiative itself. The application and questions regarding the contest can be addressed to the press team of the Business School via presse(at)bwl.uni-mannheim.de.
The winning project will be announced at the beginning of August. There is no right of appeal.
