After the excellent results in the recently published Times Higher Education World University Ranking, the University of Mannheim is now also excelling in the individual subject rankings. In the fields of Business and Economics as well as Social Sciences, the University of Mannheim ranks 33rd in the worldwide comparison, 8th in Europe and 1st in Germany. In the worldwide comparison, the University of Mannheim competes with universities such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford and Harvard.
The President of the University of Mannheim, Prof. Dr. Thomas Puhl, says: “I am very pleased that we were able to defend our leading position among the German universities and that the University of Mannheim continues to be one of the top addresses for economics and social sciences in Europe. However, we can not rest on our laurels as the competition is getting stronger. We must see how we can further strengthen our research with private funds and make even more visible what societal and economic relevance our topics have for Germany too.”
