We congratulate our researcher Mr. Fareed Zandkarimi for the acceptance of his workshop publication “Co-innovation in a University-Industry Partnership: A Case Study in the Field of Data Science”.
Authors: Fareed Zandkarimi (Chair of Enterprise Systems), Janina Nakladal, Josua Vieten, Jerome Geyer-Klingeberg (Celonis)
Abstract: One of the main focus areas of our chair is studying enterprise systems and their context of use. Therefore, maintaining a sustainable relationship with successful software vendors, as a key player in this area, have been always a top-priority for us. After four semesters of working hand-in-hand with celonis, process mining vendor and market leader, we have developed a fruitful University-Industry (UI) relationship. This collaboration ranges from real world case studies for our students to developing high-level research projects with in the area of process mining.
This success story has been published recently in CAISE 2020 as a case study report. The authors report the goals, challenges, solutions, and guidelines in the form of a framework aiming to leverage the current understanding of University-Industry collaboration in the field of data science. It should help other universities, particularly business schools, looking for building a win-win relationship with industrial partners.
