Markus Welle studied Business Administration at the University of Mannheim with majors in Marketing and Innovation Management. In his master's thesis he explored “Knowledge Integration Across Firms' External Boundaries in New Product Development”, finding antecedents and consequences of knowledge integration from interorganizational collaboration. During his studies, he spent one semester at Linköping University, Sweden, and another one at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary. He gained practical experiences in the fields of Business Development, Consulting and Strategic Marketing, working for several multinational companies. Furthermore, Markus Welle worked as a student teaching assistant at Prof. Dr. Kuester's chair of Marketing & Innovation at the University of Mannheim.
Since 2014, he is enrolled as a doctoral student in the Marketing track of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences's (GESS) doctoral program at the University of Mannheim. Since February 2015, he is a doctoral student at Prof. Dr. Kuester's chair of Marketing & Innovation. His research focuses on new product development with particular interest in managerial decision-making. Moreover, since 2017 he serves as Representative of University Advisors of Enactus Germany.
