Insights from Practitioners

In the spring semester 2021, we invite all interested students of the University of Mannheim and program participants of the Mannheim Business School to our lecture series. In the three-part lecture series, alumni of the Business School and company representatives will report on current topics from corporate practice. Get to know the management of Fuchs Petrolub SE and HeidelbergCement in the corona crisis or learn more about HR transformation from Ernst & Young. The lectures take place online.

HeidelbergCement in the Corona Crisis: Challenges and Management Action

As one of the world’s largest building materials companies, HeidelbergCement, too, has been hit by the corona crisis in spring 2020 unexpectedly and heavily.

Dr. Lorenz Näger, vice chairman and chief financial officer of the DAX corporation, talks about the major challenges of the crisis and the key measures that made the fiscal year 2020 one of the most successful years in their corporate history.

The talk treats the following topics:

  • HeidelbergCement: a global building materials company
  • The lockdown impacting key figures
  • Avoiding “cash-run”, securing liquidity
  • The road to “Smart Working” in a globally active company
  • Balance sheet management in times of Covid-19

Fuchs Petrolub SE during times of corona and global disruptions – experiences and insights

Dr. Timo Reister is an alumnus of the University of Mannheim and a member of the Executive Board of the stock listed company Fuchs Petrolub SE. In a world of accelerated change and disruptions he shares first-hand experiences on how Fuchs Petrolub SE as a global player in the chemical industry is impacted by these changes. He also provides deeper insights on key success factors for leadership, company culture, strategy, and structure during these turbulent times.
