Connected to the University since student days

Dr. Schneider was awarded for his services to the University. After his time as a student and graduate student of the University of Mannheim, he stayed connected to it through his commitment: Schneider was a member of the University Council, supported the renovation of the senate chamber and organized the promotion of the Bronnbacher scholarship.

First professional dean in Germany

His appointment as professional dean was a Germany-wide premiere in 2010. For the first time, the new dean did not emerge from the ranks of professors, but as a former member of the management board of Bilfinger SE, the engineering and service group from Mannheim, from a practical background. He established professional management structures at the Business School with an extraordinary commitment. In 2016, he retired and handed over the position to Professor Dr. Dieter Truxius.
