Hats off!

Graduates of the Business School celebrate the successful completion of their academic career.

Caps and Gowns in front of the Palace.

Between melancholy and joy: on the last weekend of July, the University of Mannheim, Business School, bid farewell to its graduates of the study programs business administration and economic and business education. This year, around 400 Bachelor and 200 Master graduates, most of them accompanied by their families, showed up to receive their diploma and a personal congratulation from Dean Professor Dr. Dieter Truxius. After a photo session in the palace courtyard Ehrenhof, where the graduates had assembled in caps and gowns, the guests gathered in the festival tent.  In front of the baroque palace and accompanied by a string quartet, the graduates received their diplomas, ceremonial speeches were held and prize holders were honored.

This year, the keynote speaker at the Bachelor graduation ceremony was Dr. Christoph Berentzen, Chief Financial Officer of the Shoppingcenter-company Unibail-Rodamco Germany. During the Master graduation ceremony, Dr. Frank Schmidt, alumnus of the Business School, and partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, gave a speech. Florian Kuczera, HR Business Partner at Volvo Group Trucks, bid farewell to the economic and business education graduates. All speakers wished the graduates their best and gave them personal advice for their career.

Subsequently, the graduates, together with their families, raised their glasses to their successful studies in the foyer of the palace. The Bachelor graduates had the opportunity to acquire their personal “graduation wine”, labeled with the names of all graduates. One Euro of every sold wine bottle was donated by the Business School to the project "Clothing the Gap" of the student initiative “Enactus”. The initiative cooperates with regional designers in order to produce practical and at the same time fashionable clothes for disabled people.

Outstanding graduates received special prizes during the graduation ceremony. The Business School thanks all foundations and donators of the prizes for their generous support of the students:
