FIN 452 - Corporate Governance

General Information

In this course, conflicts of interest within the firm will be analyzed and mechanisms to mitigate these problems will be discussed. First, the lecture starts with the theoretical concepts underpinning corporate governance. Second, emphasis will be placed on different corporate governance mechanisms (for example ownership structure, executive compensation and the role of the board of directors). Students should develop an understanding of important issues in corporate governance and of its relevance in a social, political, and economic context.

  • Time & Venue

    The introductory lecture takes place on Thursday, March 28th, 2019, 5.15.6.45 pm in O151. Information about the detailed time schedule is available on Portal2 under the course title “FIN 452 Corporate Governance”.

    The course is taught in English. All materials and the exam will be in English.

    • Bachelor students (elective course)

  • Assessment

    Students will receive one final grade on this course. The final exam will be a closed-book exam and will make up 100% of the final grade. The examination time is 60 minutes. The exam may cover all materials discussed in the lecture. The time of the exam will be published by the Studienbüro during the semester.
