The annual EURAM Conference is one of the most important European conferences for management reserach and, this year, took place virtually from December 4th to 6th. In their paper entitled “Risk-Takers – What Else? CEO Hubris, Risk-Taking, and Strategic Renewal”, the two PhD students trace the implications of CEO hubris for firms’ strategic change and, in doing so, derive evidence contrary to extant literature’s propositions on this association. The paper was selected as the best paper of the “Strategic Responsiveness and Organizational Adaptation”-track as well as the overarching Strategic Interest Group on Strategic Management.
