The 8th edition of the Business and Society Seminar was organized by the Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility on June 20th-22nd. The theme of this year’s edition was “The Transformation towards Sustainable Business: Empowering Stakeholders for Sustainable Innovation, Production, and Consumption”. The highly international seminar, taking place in the Mannheim Business School Conference Center, had approximately 80 participants. The seminar brought together emerging scholars and more experienced academics to discuss their research in an inspiring and constructive atmosphere. The program consisted of plenary, thematic, and workshop sessions, with presenters from the academic field as well as business practice. Keynote speakers Andrew Crane, Sankar Sen, Uwe Lübbermann and CB Bhattacharya gave insightful speeches on topics varying from modern slavery to CSR communication and management.
