Recently, FOCUS Online invited Prof. Edinger-Schons to write a piece for their series “Auf geht’s, Deutschland” about things that companies can do to contribute to a global sustainable development. In a nutshell, Prof. Edinger-Schons suggested that companies should transform their business models rather than contributing to social issues without connection to their own operations, should allow more participatory decision-making structures and involve stakeholders in important decisions, and should better understand, measure, and manage the impact of companies not only on their financial performance but also on social and environmental performance.
