IS 401: Digital Business

The course examines how organizations create value through information technology in an era defined by artificial intelligence, data, and digitalization. Firms today compete not only through products and markets, but through their ability to evaluate, design, integrate, and strategically deploy information technology.

The course covers several topics foundational for business students, including business process modeling and management, integrated information systems, digital business models, and technology strategy. 

Learning Outcomes

After attending the class, students..: 

  • ..are able to analyze the strategic role of information technology, model business processes,
  • ..assess the role of integrated information systems, evaluate digital business models,
  • ..and understand how digital technologies transform firms and markets. 

The course combines conceptual rigor with practical relevance and prepares students to operate at the frontier of digital business.
