Matti Boie-Wegener is a post-doctoral researcher in Accounting and Taxation at the University of Mannheim. Before joining Mannheim as a post-doctoral, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Goettingen and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of North Carolina.
His research focuses on corporate taxation, multinational firms, and the economic effects of taxation, transparency, and regulation. Across these areas, his work examines how firms respond to tax incentives, international tax rules, and disclosure requirements, and how such responses shape investment, the cross-border allocation of economic activity, and reported income. A particular focus of his research is on the behavior of multinational firms and the effects of tax policy on profit shifting, innovation, and foreign direct investment.
