MaFAT Student Club: Excursion to Paris to visit the Coffra Group and OECD

“On Monday, April 22, we had the great opportunity to visit our long-standing corporate partner Coffra Group in Paris.
After a welcome breakfast on the roof of the new office in the heart of Paris, we got to know the company and the individual specialist groups in various presentations. The Coffra Group covers the areas of law, auditing and tax and is characterized by the fact that it combines its expertise in French and German law and bridges cultural differences. During lunch, we had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the speakers in a personal setting before working on case studies on the tax differences in the two countries. We would like to thank the Coffra Group for this exciting day, especially Christoph Schlotthauer, Jessica Ambroise and everyone who made this event possible.
The following day we had the wonderful opportunity to gain an insight into the work of the OECD. After arriving at the OECD site, we were given a guided tour of the premises and conference centers. Dr. Achim Pross and his team explained to us how the OECD works as a global tax institution that sets international standards and develops solutions for tax, social and environmental challenges. There was a focus on Pillar 1 and 2, but also on other areas of interest to the students, such as sustainability and CO2 taxation. We would like to thank everyone involved for these insights.
In addition to the content of the program, we were also able to explore the city, its sights and museums. We can look back on a successful, varied and interesting excursion, which the Coffra Group, which has been participating in the Area's Gap Year program for many years, made possible thanks to its support.”
