Course Information

  • Course Description

    Students will be able to explain the interaction between information technologies, people and organizations. They understand how information systems are structured and can explain the basic functioning of computer and database systems. Students know the different approaches to information systems development and the basic techniques of requirement analysis and information system design. They understand the operational and strategic processes of managing information systems.

    They are aware of the various factors that influence the development and management of information systems and the perspectives of various stakeholders and can evaluate decisions in this context.
    Students can analyze queries formulated in natural language and translate them into structured database queries They can analyze requirements for an information system and present them in a structured format, i.e. specifically in the form of behavioral and structural diagrams

    • Einführung und grundlegende Definitionen im Bereich der Informationssysteme sowie Aufbau und Struktur von Informationssystemen
    • Technische Grundlagen: Hardware- und Softwarekomponenten sowie Funktionsweise von Computer-Systemen und -netzwerken, Grundlagen von Datenbanksystemen
    • Entwicklung von Informationssystemen: Projektmanagement und Entwicklungsprozesse sowie ausgewählte Analyse- und Entwurfstechniken
    • Management von Informationssystemen: IT Management Framework, IT Organization, IS Investitionen, IS Einführung
