Prof. Dr. Carmela Aprea

Since the spring semester 2018, Carmela Aprea holds the Chair of Economic and Business Education – Instructional Systems Design and Evaluation at the University of Mannheim. Moreover, she directs the Mannheim Institute for Financial Education (MIFE) together with Professor Tabea Bucher-Koenen.

Previously, she was Professor of Economic and Business Education at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (04/2015–01/2018) and Professor of Vocational Training Research at the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) in Lugano (05/2010–02/2015). She has also been a visiting professor at the University of Innsbruck (AT) and has taught and researched at the University of Twente (NL), the University of Graz (AT), the Università degli Studi Roma Tre (IT), the Università di Roma La Sapienza (IT), the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Milano (IT), the Stockholm University (SE) and the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (IL). Carmela Aprea studied Business and Economic Education, Psychology and Business Administration at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main (graduation as Diplom-Handelslehrerin, 1997) and earned her doctorate at the University of Mannheim with a thesis on the planning of business learning environments (2007).
