Tobias Fechner has been an external doctoral candidate at the Endowed Chair of Procurement since April 2024.

He completed his dual bachelor's degree in Business Informatics (B.Sc.) at the DHBW and his master's degree in Data Science (M.Sc.) at the University of Mannheim. During his master's degree, Tobias Fechner was an exchange student at the University of Tilburg, Netherlands, and worked as a Business Intelligence Engineer intern at Amazon in Luxembourg. He wrote his master's thesis in cooperation with Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in the area of Large Language Models for Fault Detection and Diagnosis in Industrial Process Plants.

In addition to his doctorate, Tobias Fechner works in the Data Science department at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG on Artificial Intelligence in Procurement, which is also his main research focus.
