Everardo Castolo Oviedo

Everardo Castolo Oviedo is an external doctoral candidate at the Endowed Chair for Procurement at the University of Mannheim since September 2025.

He completed his M.Sc. in Technology-Oriented Management at the Technical University of Braunschweig. In his master's thesis, he analyzed how strategic communication and marketing contribute to the transformation of organizational culture during the integration of Catena-X within the Volkswagen Group.

Prior to that, he earned a degree in industrial engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Puebla (Mexico). His academic education was complemented by several international study periods, including the Ostfalia University (Germany), Polytech Lille (France), and Universidade Federal Fluminense (Brazil). 

Parallel to his academic career, he gained extensive practical experience at Volkswagen AG, where he worked at various positions in product marketing, lifecycle management, and data & AI governance.

Alongside his doctoral studies, Everardo Castolo works in the field of value engineering within the procurement department of Volkswagen AG, where his research interests particularly focus on AI-native software engineering and effort estimation.
