MARS-IE – Mixed-ReAlity ReflectionS – Implementation und Evaluation

Project description

Our Goal: Promoting Professional Reflective Skills in Future Teachers

In the project 'Mixed-ReAlity ReflectionS – MARS-IE,' we are developing a training program for reflecting on teaching based on video holograms. This training offers students the opportunity to analyze their own teaching actions using mixed-reality holograms. As part of the accompanying research, we also investigate, in an experimental control group design, the extent to which hologram reflections are inferior or superior to traditional video reflections of teaching, and whether there is an additional benefit to be gained from video holograms for teaching reflections.

Our Approach: Learning Together and from Each Other – Especially in Teacher Education!

The study seminar associated with the project will take place in 2024 at the University of Göttingen (Prof. Deutscher) in cooperation with the University of Konstanz (JProf. Stefanie Findeisen, Mars-D) and is supported by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education within the framework of the Freiraum-Ausschreibung. The seminar is connected with a study trip to the Konstanz location. During this trip, students reflect on their own teaching with peers from both locations with the goal of learning together and from each other and developing a professional distance and capacity for self-critique in their teaching.
