Profile

Raik Stolletz is Professor and holds the Chair of Production Management in the Area Operations Management of the Business School at the University of Mannheim since December 2010. In his previous positions he served as an Associate Professor for Operations Management at the Department of Management Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, Denmark and as an Assistant Professor at the Leibniz University at Hannover, Germany. He obtained his PhD from the Technical University of Clausthal and studied Mathematics, Business Administration, and Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin.

Professor Stolletz taught courses in production and operations management with a focus on Business Analytics approaches in Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs.

His research focuses on the development and application of methods in predictive and prescriptive business analytics to optimize decisions in production and operations management. Current research projects are on quantitative decision support in the design and management of manufacturing and service systems. This includes performance analysis and optimization of stochastic systems, applications of methods from artificial intelligence, or combinatorial or nonlinear optimization. Application areas are broad with projects in Industry 4.0, airport operations, automotive production, workforce planning, or management of distribution centers. Some projects are funded by industry partners, the European Union, or the German science foundation (DFG).

His research has been published in leading international academic journals in the field of Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, and Operational Research. For more information please click here.
