Master thesis on the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

With annual growth rates of over 25% since 2018, global investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are likely to pass the $100 billion threshold in the coming five years1. Across all sectors and functions, there are high expectations for AI/ML, e.g., higher efficiency, strengthened resilience, increased revenues. However, many companies that invest significantly in AI/ML have difficulties leveraging the full potential AI/ML has to offer.

We are looking for a talented and motivated student who is interested to unravel the invisible patterns of AI/ML success with the help of a qualitative in-depth study which is targeting at the following topics:

  • How do successful companies identify promising AI/ML use cases and how do they initiate AI/ML projects from a business perspective?
  • What are the fundamental enablers to scale up successful AI/ML use across the organization?
  • How is the AI/ML initiative governed and led from the management side?

The study is supposed to comprise 4–6 companies and the respective master student will be actively supported in finding and contacting the case companies. The thesis can be started immediately. It will be co-mentored by Prof. Heinzl and Dr. Grebe.

If you are interested in this unique master thesis project, please contact Prof. Heinzl or Dr. Grebe via email.
