Luka Längle wins prestigious science prize for his master's thesis

We congratulate Luka Längle on his success! The Volksbank Kurpfalz Foundation and the ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research have honoured his master's thesis with the 11th “Future of Work” science prize – congratulations! The award recognizes his outstanding master's thesis on “Unleashing the Value of Artificial Intelligence: A Case Study Analysis of Industrial Goods and Healthcare Firms” , which he completed at the chair of Prof. Heinzl with co-supervision by Dr. Michael Grebe (Boston Consulting Group).

Artificial intelligence (AI) is considered one of the most promising technologies of the present and future. Its use is said to have a major impact on the competitiveness of companies and the future of work. Despite high expectations, many AI use cases do not scale and deliver an economic benefit.

With his work, Mr. Längle succeeds in illuminating a little-researched topic as part of an explorative case study analysis in the healthcare and industrial goods sectors. It not only contributes to understanding the enablers and inhibitors of AI use cases in companies, but also provides valuable insights into their interaction effects for increasing the value contribution of AI use cases in companies. The award is endowed with a prize of 2,000.00 euros.
