Sergej von Janda is Lead UX Researcher at Kaiser X Labs, an Allianz company focusing on user experience research and user-centric innovation development. In his current position, Sergej advises Allianz on the planning, execution and analysis of global UX research, on the execution of innovation workshops, and on the implementation of agile principles in project and team management. Since 2013, Sergej also teaches marketing and innovation related courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and MBA level at the University of Mannheim and the Mannheim Business School.
Sergej has earned his master degree (M.Sc.) and PhD in Marketing at the University of Mannheim. His dissertation project was funded via a comprehensive research scholarship by the Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). In 2017, Sergej completed his dissertation with summa cum laude. His effort was awarded with the Marketing Foundation Award of the University of Mannheim for an outstanding dissertation with distinction. From 2017 – 2021, Sergej worked as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Mannheim. Sergej’s research focuses on international marketing, innovation, digital marketing, and consumer behavior and has been published in the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Cleaner Production, the Journal of Research-Technology Management and the Global Journal of Fashion Marketing. Furthermore, he has presented his research at various renowned conferences. Sergej worked as a visiting researcher at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore (India) in 2016 and at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) in 2019.
