Andreas Polthier studied business administration with a focus on Marketing and Strategic Management at the University of Mannheim. During his Bachelor's studies, he spent a semester abroad at Bentley University, MA, USA. He completed his Master within a Double Degree program and hence studied in Mannheim and at the Norwegian School of Economics (Bergen) for one year each.
In his master thesis “When do consumers appreciate partitioned price designs? The role of math anxiety, product involvement, and attitude toward the selling firm”, he investigated the conditions under which consumers have a preference for partitioned and/
He gained hands-on experience in the general management of a retailer, in market research, and in marketing consulting. Besides, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Marketing & Innovation at the University of Mannheim and as a teaching assistant at the Department of Professional & Intercultural Communication, NHH.
Since September 2017, he is enrolled within the marketing track of the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) and is mentored by Prof. Dr. Kuester at the Chair of Marketing & Innovation. He is particularly interested in the areas of customer complaint management, pricing and international marketing.
