ICIS Best Theory Paper in the IS in Healthcare Track

We are proud to announce that the paper “Social Comparison in mHealth: The Role of Similar Others and Feelings of Envy“ authored by Monica Fallon has won the Best Theory Paper Award at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2020 in the IS in Healthcare Track.

The paper reveals that social features in mHealth apps can impact users' feelings of envy and distinguishes two unique pathways on how this impacts goal-setting behavior. Monica Fallon studied psychology at the University of Arizona and is currently a doctoral student at the Chair of General management and Information Systems at the Mannheim School of Business. Her co-authors are researchers at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
