Katharina Viethen Receives the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation Thesis Award

Last year, Katharina Viethen submitted her master's thesis entitled “Sustainability in Air Cargo Supply Chains” at our Chair. In her thesis, she investigated how environmental and social sustainability aspects can be systematically integrated into the design of air cargo networks. To address this challenge, she developed an optimization model for the network and fleet planning of air cargo companies that simultaneously considers economic objectives, environmental indicators, and social factors.

This outstanding work has now been recognized with the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation Thesis Award. The award ceremony took place on May 8, 2026, in a festive setting at the SEW-EURODRIVE headquarters in Bruchsal. The Chair would like to warmly congratulate Katharina Viethen on this well-deserved achievement.
