Kjell Herzig holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and spent a semester abroad at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
Afterwards he pursued a master’s degree in management at the University of Mannheim. In his master's thesis he investigated algorithm aversion in AI-based medical diagnoses.
After completing his master’s degree, he worked as a research associate at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where he conducted research on human-AI interaction.
He gained practical experience at multinational companies such as DHL or HeidelbergCement, as well as various medium-sized companies in marketing, product management and business development.
Since November 2021, Kjell Herzig is a research associate at the Chair of Marketing & Innovation of Prof. Dr. Kuester. His research is at the interface of marketing and digital technology. He is particularly interested in digital consumer behavior - e.g., the role of empathy in customer-AI interactions.
