Exams for students in the 6th semester | FSS 2020

Dear students of the 6th semester,

First of all, we would like to thank you very much for your patience during these difficult days for all of us. Just in time before Easter, we would like to give you the first concrete information about the three postponed mid-term exams of your current semester. The exams will take place in the format of an OpenBook exam as soon as the collective statutes for the adaptation of all examination regulations of the university, which are currently being prepared by the legal office, have been approved (all committee meetings are planned for the week after Easter).

The processing time for each exam is in accordance with the examination regulations (thus 90 minutes). In addition to the processing time, an appropriate time allowance will be provided for downloading the examination papers and uploading the examination papers you have prepared. This will take about 15 – 20 minutes.

The exams will take place promptly after 6th of May. You will be informed about the exact dates, but you can assume a period of about 8–10 days after the 6th of May, in which all exams will take place.

As this exam format is new to you, a shortened trial exam (approx. 30 minutes) will be offered according to the schedule of the actual exam, so that all participants – examiners, “supervisors” and you as a student – can familiarize themselves with the format and the procedure and you can also check whether you have the necessary technical requirements (especially a stable Internet connection). Such a procedure is planned for week 18. You will also be informed of the exact date.

All examiners will ask one or two sample questions so that you can see concrete examples for all three exams.

We are very happy to be able to offer you the exams in this way and are sure that we can bring your semester to a good end together with you.
