The prize is awarded annually by the German Society for Online Research at the General Online Research Conference. Indira completed her dissertation at the Department of Computer Science at RWTH Aachen University in collaboration with the Department of Computational Social Science at the GESIS Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claudia Wagner and Prof. Dr. Wil van der Aalst.
The primary focus of my thesis is the identification and mitigation of errors that occur in the automated measurement of social constructs—such as opinions, social identity, and mental health states—when using digital trace data, particularly textual digital traces from online platforms.
