Information for First-Year MMFACT Students
In addition to general information for students, we have compiled all the important information for you on this page so that you can start your first semester without worries. We will continuously adapt and update the page so that you don't miss any news and events.
Classes will start in the fall/
Our orientation sessions and welcome events are scheduled for the week starting on 31 August.
Even if you are not officially enrolled yet at that time, you are nonetheless most welcome to take part in all sessions.
Introductory week
Mannheim Master in Finance, Accounting & Taxation
To ensure that you are well prepared for your studies, we would like to invite you to our intro week, which takes place in the week before the start of lectures (31 August to 4 September). It starts with the official welcome event of the Business School on 31 August 2026 in the afternoon in the auditorium, followed by a champagne reception. Make sure you also stop by the social events to make your first contacts with fellow students.
So that you don't lose track, we will gradually announce all the dates here, so please check this page regularly.

Seminar
During your studies you must take at least one seminar (module 700). It is recommended to write the seminar at the chair where you would also like to write your master's thesis. In the module catalog you will find further information about the content and requirements of the seminars.

Everything you need to know about your exams
Student Services
Student services handles the exam scheduling. Exam dates will be coordinated, so that they will not overlap. You can register for exams via Portal2 but if you have any problems with exam registration, please feel free to contact Ms. Keller-Biehl (master-bwlverwaltung.uni-mannheim.de).

Number of ECTS
To get your Master's degree, you need at least 120 ECTS. If exceed the 120 ECTS with your last exam, this exam will still be completely included in the grade calculation and it may happen that you then graduate for example with 122 ECTS. Once you have reached the required ECTS, it is no longer possible to register for exams.
