New Addition to the Business School: Prof. Dr. Jens Förderer started as Professor of Information Systems

Jens Förderer was most recently a Professor of Innovation and Digitalization at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He now returns to the University of Mannheim, where he completed his studies in Information Systems in 2013. Following this, he earned his doctorate in Business Administration with summa cum laude, also from the University of Mannheim. Since then, he has received top rankings (WirtschaftsWoche) and numerous awards, including being named to the Top 40 under 40 list by Capital magazine and receiving the ERC Starting Grant. His research stays have taken him to the University of Maryland and the University of Oxford as a visiting scholar.

“From my time as a student, I know that Mannheim is attracting a lot of talents from all over the globe, and I am very much looking forward to working with all of you,” said Förderer during his greeting at the Business School.

With his extensive expertise on the impact of digital technologies on business strategies and market structures, including Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, social media, and digital platforms, Jens Förderer will enrich the Area of Information Systems and further strengthen Mannheim’s teaching and research.
