Carpooling in Teams: Easily Find and Offer Rides

Do you commute to the university regularly and have open seats in your car? Or are you looking for a ride to work? Starting now, you can use the carpooling feature in Microsoft Teams.

The group offers two clearly organized channels: “Offer Rides” and “Find Rides.” Staff members can easily offer open seats in their cars or search for suitable rides there. This makes it easier to find carpool partners, share travel costs, and reduce traffic volume and CO2 emissions at the same time. Further coordination takes place directly between the participants via private chat in Teams.

The carpooling platform is open to all University of Mannheim staff members and can be accessed via the Teams client.

Note: As soon as you click the link, a window will open asking if you want to open the link. However, this only works on the Teleserver, since the Teams app is installed there. In all other cases, please click Cancel and then click the Use the web app instead button. Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams is a bit cumbersome in this regard.
