COBRA Summer School on Empirical Tax Research

From 1 to 3 July 2026, the COBRA Summer School on Empirical Tax Research brought together doctoral researchers and early-career scholars at Mannheim Business School for three days of intensive learning and academic exchange.

The program featured lectures and workshops by Christoph Spengel, Marcel Olbert, Barbara Stage, Katarzyna Anna Bilicka, John Gallemore, and Shannon Chen, covering topics such as Difference-in-Differences methods, tax enforcement, tax complexity, and frontier research in empirical taxation and public finance.

In addition to the academic sessions, participants had the opportunity to network during social events, including a group dinner and an excursion to Heidelberg. The Summer School provided an inspiring platform for discussing current research and strengthening international academic connections.
