Diversity Week 2025: Four Days for Diversity and Equal Opportunities

Whether its our origin, gender, reality of life or access to education: Diversity shapes our everyday university life. Under the motto “In the Same Schloss Together: Between Walls and Ways Forward“, Diversity Week 2025 shines a light on the different faces of diversity and invites all university members to share their perspectives and promote equal opportunities from 13 to 16 October.

The highlight of the campaign week is the central evening event on Wednesday, 15 October, in the Katakomben. After an opening by Prof. Dr. Heiko Paulheim, Vice President for Digitalization, Equal Opportunity, and Diversity at the University of Mannheim, Prof. Dr. Jessica Steinberger (Technische Hochschule Mannheim) will speak about “tradwives” and toxic masculinity norms on the internet, Dr. Oliver Rittmann (Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES)) talks about gender-specific attention patterns in parliament and Dr. Andrea Chagas López (Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES)) on participatory approaches in diversity research. Singer Laura di Natali from the Popakademie Baden-Württember (Mannheim) will provide musical accompaniment during the event.

Diverse program

The four campaign days include various events on campus community, participation, accessibility, neurodivergence and AI-based self-management. Other core themes are prevention of anti-Semitism, networking opportunities as well as cultural, musical and cinematic contributions.
