Fax Numbers Discontinued – One Central Number Remains | Business School

Fax messages play almost no role at the University of Mannheim anymore, and with the transition to digital telephony, the next logical step follows: the President's Office has decided to discontinue all individual fax numbers as of 1 July 2026.

The university will remain reachable by fax via the central number: +49 621 181-1050

Going forward, faxes may only be sent on-site at the filing department. Incoming faxes will be forwarded by the filing department via internal mail or email – provided the intended recipient can be clearly identified. Please therefore ask senders to include your name and organizational unit in their fax message. In addition, please notify the filing department in advance whenever you are expecting a fax.

If an individual fax number still appears on the university website, on flyers, letterheads, or other materials, please replace it with the new central fax number by 30 June 2026 at the latest. Please also dispose of any fax machines that are no longer needed in line with usual procedures. Where multifunctional devices are in use, only the fax number will be deactivated – printing, scanning, and other functions will remain available as usual.
