Doctoral Defense of Jan Ohmstedt

Jan Ohmstedt successfully defended his dissertation

On Thursday, December-12, Jan Ohmstedt successful defended his dissertation titled “Between performance and normative demands: Decision-making, purchasing strategy, and purchasing capabilities”.

Broadly speaking, Jan looked at several important problems arising from organizations' parallel struggle for performance and legitimacy, and investigated the value contributions from corporate procurement. On the more conceptual end, he used the proportionality principle from constitutional law to propose a framework for decision making when there are trade-offs between competing normative demands of inconsistent and incompatible logics. On the more applied end, he developed a new capability framework for software sourcing.

Congratulations, Dr. Ohmstedt!
