The Wirtschaftswoche Ranking: In the Category “Lifetime Achievement”, Professor Homburg Is the Leading Researcher in Business Administration / Double Victory for Mannheim Scientists

For the fifth time already, Professor Homburg’s lifetime achievement is honored with the top position in the ranking of economists. “This distinction reaffirms the high quality and practical orientation of our research. Good research excels not only scientifically but also is practically oriented and applicable for managers,” says Homburg.

Distinguished retired professor Weber ranks second in the ranking, which is based on an overall evaluation of all publications of an individual researcher. Another Mannheim Professor, Stefan Reichelstein, Ph.D., holder of the endowed professorship of business administration, is among the top 10 of the best researchers in his field. In total, seven scientists of the University of Mannheim achieved to rank among the top five percent in the German-speaking world.

The business administration ranking is published every other year. It evaluates the research performance of business economists working in or coming from German-speaking countries. However, not all publications are evaluated on equal terms. Instead, the quality and reputation of the respective journal determine the significance of each individual publication. The ranking is compiled by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) in collaboration with the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics on behalf of the German Wirtschaftswoche magazine.
