Prof. Dr. David Prömel takes over the Chair in Mathematical Finance
The Chair in Mathematical Finance at the faculty of business informatics and business mathematics is filled again: Since the 1st of September Prof. Dr. David Prömel is the new assistant professor.
Prof. Dr. David Prömel joins us from the Mathematical Institute at University of Oxford, United Kingdom, where he held a position as lecturer until August. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich working with Prof. Josef Teichmann from October 2015 until August 2017. In 2015 he completed his PhD at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Peter Imkeller.
In Mannheim Prof. Dr. David Prömel will dedicate his research to the areas of mathematical finance and stochastic analysis. In particular, his group will focus on questions arising in mathematical finance under model uncertainty and in the analytic approaches to stochastic (partial) differential equations.
Prof. Dr. David Prömel will also teach: For the students of the Universität Mannheim he will offer courses mainly in the area of mathematical finance, such as the lecture courses “Mathematical Finance“ and “Advanced Mathematical Finance“.
