Research Data Management Seminars: AI for Research Data Management and Open Science
Researchers often face challenges in navigating the requirements of Research Data Management (RDM) and Open Science (OS).
In this talk, we present two AI assistants (FAIR GPT and FAIRplexica) designed to directly support researchers in these tasks.
FAIR GPT, a custom assistant integrated into ChatGPT, guides users in creating FAIR-compliant metadata, selecting repositories, and generating key documents such as data management plans.
FAIRplexica helps researchers discover and summarize relevant RDM resources from the web using a metasearch engine and large language models (LLMs), with cited sources provided for transparency.
Both tools reduce the manual workload involved in RDM and OS, offering researchers practical, AI-powered support throughout the data lifecycle and aligned with the principles of OS.
