Wirtschaftswoche: Lifetime Achievement for Professor Homburg

The current WirtschaftsWoche ranking honors Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian Homburg for his lifetime achievement as the leading business economist in the German-speaking world.

Once again, the WirtschaftsWoche honors Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Homburg in the lifetime achievement category as the leading business economist in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Professor Homburg's lifetime achievements have already been recognized with a top ranking in 2019 by WirtschaftsWoche and in 2012 and 2014 by the Handelsblatt.

Particularly impressive: With Professor Weber, another researcher from the University of Mannheim makes it into the top 3 of the most successful business economists: a double success for the University of Mannheim.

“No other business economist has published as much and at such a high level in his career,” according to WirtschafsWoche.

What makes Professor Homburg's research that successful?
Professor Homburg's research topics are practical, innovative and future-oriented. In current projects, he deals, for example, with the role of digital competencies in marketing and sales and the impact of social inequality on business success. He ensures practical relevance through regular dialog with company representatives at the Institute for Market-Oriented Management (IMU), which he founded with Professor Kuester and which has established itself as a forum for dialog between academia and practice.

“Good research shows itself not only in scientific excellence, but also in its practical relevance and applicability for managers.”
