Am Mittwoch, den 10.05. hat Frau Prof. Dr. Cornelia Schön sie eingeladen von 12:00 bis 13:00 Uhr einen Vortrag zum Thema „Airplane boarding and customer satisfaction“ online zu halten.


The boarding of passenger airplanes represents a process that is usually on the critical path of the turnaround of short- and medium-haul flights. Enormous costs can therefore be saved simply by shortening the boarding process by just a few minutes. However, passenger satisfaction also depends to a large extent on factors that are determined by the boarding process. The aim now is to both minimize boarding time and improve customer satisfaction (which are sometimes assumed to be conflicting goals). Insights are given into empirical studies, theoretical analyses and the development of a new boarding method that takes these two goals into account.
