BCCG Conference on Corporate Governance

Top executives and leading academics convened at Mannheim Palace for the 2025 BCCG Conference to address pressing issues in corporate governance. The one-day event brought together international experts to explore sustainability reporting, board oversight in global companies, and the evolution of German corporate governance standards, bridging the gap between research and executive practice.

The challenges facing corporate governance practice are more complex and significant than ever. Positioned at the intersection of university research and executive practice, the Berlin Center of Corporate Governance (BCCG) at Mannheim Business School serves as a center of expertise and a dynamic communication hub bridging academia and the corporate world.

As part of a one-day 2025 BCCG conference in Mannheim Palace, renowned experts discussed current challenges and perspectives of corporate governance from an executive perspective. The focus of the conference was on sustainability reporting, the changing role of the supervisory board in international companies and the future of the German Corporate Governance Code (DCGK). The keynote speech was given by Stephan Gemkow, member of the Supervisory Boards of Airbus, Amadeus IT Group, and Zurich Airport.

The three high-profile panels were moderated by Luka Mucic, Group CFO, Vodafone, and member of the Supervisory Board of Heidelberg Materials, and the BCCG's academic leadership team, Professor Dr. Alexandra Niessen-Ruenzi, University of Mannheim, and Professor Dr. Jens Wüstemann, University of Mannheim and President of Mannheim Business School.
