QS Subject Rankings: Top Rankings in the Economic and Social Sciences

The university achieves particularly strong results in business and economics: it is once again ranked first in Germany in accounting and finance. It ranks second in business and management studies and third in economics and econometrics. 

In national comparison, the University of Mannheim is also very well ranked in other disciplines: in political science and psychology (the latter in the category “Life Sciences”), it ranks fifth in each field, and eighth in sociology. It is also among the top ten German universities in media and communication studies.

The “QS World University Rankings by Subject“ are published every year and rank more than 1,700 universities worldwide. Evaluated are research reputation, cross-border research collaborations, the number of their publications and citations, and the reputation of graduates with employers.
