Dirk Ifenthaler receives honorary doctorate from the University of Eastern Finland

Prof. Dr. Dirk Ifenthaler receives the award for his research in the field of educational technology and learning analytics.

In his publications, the business educator combines research on cognitive psychology, educational technology, data analytics and organizational learning. He has held the Chair of Business Education – Learning, Design, and Technology at the University of Mannheim since 2015.

The University of Eastern Finland is one of the largest universities in Finland. It was created in 2010 by merging several universities and specializes in social and commercial sciences, health sciences, natural and forest sciences and philosophy. Ifenthaler has been working with the members of the Learning, everyday life and work in a digitalized society research community (DIGS) at the University of Eastern Finland since 2019. This research group investigates new learning opportunities and tools, as well as the challenges of digitalization in different contexts and areas of life.
